Mahaveer Singh was 38 when a fodder-cutting machine slipped. The accident took his right eye.

The hospital bills? ₹3 lakh. He had to sell 6 of his 10 cows just to pay the debt. His wife started working as a domestic helper. His kids stopped going to tuition.

"Usdin laga—sab kuch khatam ho gaya," Mahaveer says.

But he had to get up. His family was counting on him.

2009-2019 | 10 Years of Struggle

For 10 years, Mahaveer worked harder than anyone. He woke up at 4 AM. Fed his 4 remaining cows. Worked in others' fields during the day. Milked his cows at night.

He supplied milk to middlemen at ₹24-26 per liter. His fodder costs? ₹32 per liter. He was losing money daily.

When he asked for better rates, they laughed. "Itne mein nahi dega toh mat de. Baaki 50 farmers hain."

He took another ₹1.5 lakh loan to buy cows. The debt kept growing. His son wanted to study engineering. His daughter wanted to be a teacher. He couldn't afford either.

"Maine itni mehnat ki. Par mehnat ka koi mol nahi tha," Mahaveer says, his voice breaking.

January 2022-Now

In January 2022, Mahaveer Singh joined Ratnaya Organics.

Today, at 53, he has 12 Rathi cows and earns well. The ₹3 lakh hospital debt? Cleared. The ₹1.5 lakh loan? Paid off. His son is studying engineering. His daughter is in B.Ed college.

But here's the best part—Mahaveer didn't just change his life. He changed his village.

When other farmers saw his transformation, they asked—"Kaise badal gaye?" Mahaveer brought them to Ratnaya. Today, 42 farmers from his village have joined because of him.

"Maine sirf apni zindagi nahi badli. Maine apne gaon ki zindagi badli. 42 parivaron mein khushi aayi. Yahi asli kamyabi hai," Mahaveer says with pride.
